Will Smith ‘Sorry’ For Hitler Comment

Will Smith got into a little bit of trouble when Scotland’s The Daily Record quoted him as saying
Hitler, "didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today.’ I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good.’"
The quick apology came after getting a stern reaction from the We Hate Hitler Foundation (Anti-Defamation League).
"It is an awful and disgusting lie. It speaks to the dangerous power of an ignorant person with a pen. I am incensed and infuriated to have to respond to such ludicrous misinterpretation. Adolph Hitler was a vile, heinous, vicious killer responsible for one of the greatest acts of evil committed on this planet."
In what context could Smith have said this? Don’t worry Will we all still love ya. But seriously, why do people got to be so testy? Oh and if you havn’t seen his new movie I am Legend, go see it!
he should have to apologize for that remark. Sure the people that got all pissed off are right in saying he was a vicious killer, but at the same time what Will smith said makes perfect sense. Every sick minded person like Hitler thinks just like that. In some “backwards logic” as Will said they “think they are doing something good”, no matter how bad it is to the other side. People just need something to bitch about sometimes.
Oh lawd… He was clearly NOT saying that he thought Hitler was doing good. He was saying that Hitler was twisted, and in HIS MIND (Hitler’s), what he was doing was a good thing.
I can’t stand when “leagues” and “associations” get uppity over things without really hearing what’s said or seeing what’s done.

The Anti-Defamation League is only setting the stage for the next Hitler. By portraying him as some kind of mythic, demonic monster who is somehow separate from the rest of us, they are only denying the truth. The truth is, Hitler was a human being who had a mother, father, grandparents and siblings. He had lovers and close friends… just like every other person on the face of this Earth. In fact, some of his closest friends, like Emil Maurice, were Jewish and continued to be close friends throughout the holocaust (which goes a long way to expose another human trait he possessed… hypocrisy). By denying the fact that Adolf Hitler was in fact one of us (i.e. a human being), we learn nothing from happened in Europe in the late 1930’s/early 1940’s. No matter how frightening the thought, the vast majority of the human race has the capacity within themselves for unimaginable evil given the right situation and circumstance (countless scientific studies have been done on the matter) and until we recognize that fact, we have done nothing to prevent it from happening again.
Of course he was human….so was Saddam Husein. Yes we are all capable of some sort of “unimaginable evil”, but given the “Right situation and circumstances”? That doesn’t make it right for any one person to do what he did to so many innocent lives. Adolph Hitler obviously had issues beyond the thought pattern of a normal person. He ordered the murders of countless people as to “cull” the human race of a disease. If he succeeded in Europe, who knows what monstrosities he would have tried to commit beyond the oceans. Hitler defamed himself by being the evil tyrant that he was. If we’re are supposed to sit here and say that it was all okay because he was just another “human being” then we can forgive every criminal mind for the heinous acts they commit. He was human so he knew the concept of common morals and that what he did and was doing was wrong. Let’s not try to justify Hitlers actions as being just being “Human”.
Everything Hitler did, he was trying to help his country! Yes, it was wrong killing people but think if all them Jews came over to America like some started too most of us wouldn’t have houses! SO QUIT BITCHING!!!!!! IT IS OVER!

The world will never know peace as long as there is any form of religion (and I say that as a Christian). To blame everything on one individual thing is ridiculous. To say that Hitler was a hero to some is saying the same for Bin Laden, Hussein…and even George W. Bush. Just because someone believes in what they are doing or did, does not make it right.
I suppose you can find justification for the things happening in Darfur, Somalia and numerous other African countries where genocide is present and innocent people are being raped, tortured and killed. They aren’t living in “Luxury”.
Well perhaps that isn’t the best analogy however the point wasn’t to say the two actions are similar in any way.. But simply point out the fact that the concept of good and evil.. Are conditional , just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder so is good and evil. And as for Hitler he united a nation that was at its breaking point.. He saw the corrosive elements within his country and took action to do away with them.. While it is unfortunate that children must be involved but that’s how it works in war.. Now I have a few theories as to the purpose of religions and why they must be destroyed and forgotten.. But that’s getting kind of off subject.. So I will spare you that..
But back to the Jews .. Now im not sure if your familiar with the Byzantine Empire, But they are one of the ONLY cultures that did not banish, or massacre the Jews.. They lived in relative peace with the Jews.. For I think about twelve centuries until they were wiped out by Turks.. They were able to live with the Jews.. Because they were not allowed to control the currency the education or the government of that empire… Which in turn meant that the Moral and cultural destruction did not take place there.. like it is here.. I recommend you look into how many places they have been banished from when you find a list.. You can ask yourself.. If its just a coincidence that all of those places turned them away.. Burned their books.. Slaughtered them. Confiscated their property.

Alright, obviously the debate here is between the 2 extremes which makes it impossible to come to a midpoint, and perhaps there realistically isn’t one. But in reality, when Hitler initially took power, he was passionate in finding the best way to break his country out of depression and save their patriotism after the humiliation that occurred following the Treaty of Versailles.
Obviously there was something twisted in his thought process, that’s a given, because he felt that to benefit his country he had to eleminate the entire Jewish population, as everyone is aware. But as said before, he did it for the benefit of his people so ultimately his intentions were…nobel? I know I’ll be destroyed for using that word but in his eyes it was.
That doesn’t excuse his actions of course but you have to understand why he did what he did before you decide to judge whether or not he’s ‘evil’. He was a hero to his people with a monstrous commitment to his country and that was his major flaw in the end. I in no way support the Holocaust, but I do support his motive, had he kept them in control.
Back on topic though, Will Smith should never have had to apologize for what he said because really it was completely true, Hitler didn’t intend to be evil, it just ended that way through his actions. People just get too touchy once you bring up Hitler and that’s a flaw of society, not a single celebrity.
