Warm Up: 001

I don’t know where you’re at but in Toronto it’s dreary, cold and basically impossible to leave the crib. This is my view from the second floor studio apartment I live in. Where there’s usually about 15 Portuguese kids running around yelling at the top of there lungs, somebody having a cigarette on the front porch and an old lady pushing a cart full of wine bottles down the street, just total silence. Anybody wanna put me up in So Cal? If you’re all cooped up like I am and looking for something to keep your brain from hibernating, here’s a couple things:

Download this. Behind The Boards series with Pete Rock talking classic hip hop, definitely worth a listen.

Read this. A comic book narrative debut by David Heatley. The book is a hilarious graphic depiction of his struggles with sex, family, racism and rippled with 90’s hip hop album reviews. Uneasy at times and explicitly funny throughout.

Watch this. Maybe it’s cause I’m a chick, but this one always puts me in a good mood.
