I was listening to more Juan Epstein podcasts yesterday, a second one with Pete Rock. I really like nerding out to these because it makes me go back and listen to tunes I haven’t pulled out in a while. I don’t know where you’re at but in Toronto it’s dreary, cold and basically impossible to leave the crib. This is my view from the second floor studio apartment I live in. Where there’s usually about 15 Portuguese kids running around yelling at the top of there lungs, somebody having a cigarette on the front porch and an old lady pushing a cart full of wine bottles down the street, just total silence. Last night Hip Hop Roll was at the Reebok Pump 20th Anniversary Party in Toronto. A slew of the cities finest packed into the Red Bull Gallery on Queen Street to celebrate The Pump. Reebok pulled out all stops staging the turntable stylings of Kid Koala and the Chocolate Boy Wonder himself Pete Rock.
