American Idol’s Blake Lewis Intro To Hip-Hop
July 15, 2009 by Jyle
Blake Lewis who was the runner up from Season 6 of American Idol is trying to make him mark in the music industry as a hip-hop artist. Despite being a great singer and champion beep-bopper, Blake never seemed to make an impression on his fans as a solo artist.
With other American Idols mostly representing country, rock or soul music none have really gone the hip-hop route despite being a lucrative field. Blake has already signed a record deal with Tommy Boy and is set to be released in October if all goes well.

Kanye West Congratulates Kris Allen For ‘Heartless’
Any of you watch American Idol this season? The winner of the show was the very shy Kris Allen from Conway, Arkansas. Well, his version was impressive. After finishing, judge Simon Cowell said that his rendition was better than the original. I don’t think Kanye West was insulted by the comment because after the season ended he called to congratulate him on his win and rendition of his song.
No word yet if the two are going to try and make a song together but it might be in the works.
Listen to Kris Allen’s studio version of “Heartless” after the jump…
Jamie Foxx Performs On American Idol
Jamie Foxx was on American Idol last night April 30, 2009. He performed his song Blame It with a highly digitized voice over to the hundreds of screaming fans.
Foxx was on the show because he was helping the final contestants of the show perfect their performances. The music genre of the week was blues. I guess because Foxx did that whole Ray thing he was an obvious choice for the task. Anyways check out his performance below.

Kanye West Performs On American Idol
Kanye West was on American Idol March 11, 2009 to play his song “Heartless.” I was a little hesitant when I first heard that he he was going to perform.
I remembered that his last live performance of that song on Saturday Day Night Live was a disaster and didn’t want a repeat of that for Kanye. I was surprised listening in cause I thought it was actually decent sounding.
