Obama Seeks Help From Hip-Hop Gurus

Seems like democratic hopeful (and future president?) Barak Obama sought promotional help from Hip Hop gurus Jay-Z and Kanye West.
I would hate to have to report that Obama is only doing this for political reasons. I mean the younger generation is one of the hardest assets government leaders can tap into, mostly because we don’t give a damn.
Obama has said in the past that he has a hard time accepting the lyrics of rap so why is he using hip-hop as political chess piece? I mean he accepted endorsements from Oprah Winfrey but denied help from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. He wouldn’t even take their financial contribution (allegedly). It’s no secret that Kanye West dislikes president Bush, so it would make sense that Obama would use West’s influence. But why Jay-Z?
Roberta over at Ear Sucker put it perfectly, "What I can’t figure out is why he’d want to have someone spread his message, if he doesn’t believe in theirs?"
