Nelly’s All Girl Drumline at the BET Hip-Hop Awards
Nelly put out a call for an all girl drumline. Thousands of auditions were sent over MySpace and YouTube and what Nelly got was an amazing team of girls who put on quite the show during his performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2007. The awards show will be televised on the 17th so be sure not to miss this performance.

Creative? Clever! History! I watched the awards show and it was very positive. This was an excellent opportunity to promote the positivity of Hip Hop, and they did it! Nelly had a performance that was awesome. He really supported females in a positive light. He had the first, yes the first, all female drumline, and, it featured one of DC’s own from Shaw Junior High School Band, Class of 2000, Morgan Anna Terry. She played the Quads- zoom in on the right of the TV. Contact Mr. Hoover at Shaw for details about Shaw’s Band if you don’t know. :-)

It’s the talk of DC and nationwide. Nelly held auditions nationwide and selected 13 girls out of 100. Oh, and DC is hoping Nelly will to do some GO GO with DC’s finest!

The performance with Nelly was amazing!!! I enjoyed the opportunity to perform on stage with Nelly and the other members of the drumline. I’m “Sassy”, the girl on the bass drum with the Applebottom logo…hope we do it again soon! Hi Whitney!!!!!!!Dueces…

To All The Apple Bottom Drum Crew:
It has been suggested that someone in the Apple Bottoms drum corp start a MySpace page featuring all the drumline members. This will, perhaps, become a great marketing campaign to get these girls to join Nelly or even some other celeb on a future tour to showcase their talents. The magazine I’m affiliated with plans to do a feature article on the girls but we have had some challenges gathering all of their names, their ages and where they are from. We also would welcome their comments on their experiences during the audition process, the rehearsing phase and performing at the Hip Hop Awards. Whomever takes the initiative to do this, please let everyone know by posting on all of the blogs and various forums, so that we can identify and celebrate their accomplishments! Thank you kindly. I will check here a few times daily to see if someone has done it. Remember, I need the info for the mag before the end of this week!! Let’s get it done!!
