About a month ago I did an interview with a DJ/ Producer out of Toronto by the name of Lancecape. I’m a fan of The Black Keys. Even though their songs kinda blend into one sometimes, the duo have got that bluesy dirty rock style down pat. Lately it seems they have reached a wider audience, their last album Attack and Release was produced by Danger Mouse and was supposed to have been a collabo with late Ike Turner. Now, one year later they’ve partnered up with the one and only Damon Dash, formerly of Roc-A-Fella Records. Dres of the legendary Black Sheep is giving real hip-hop fans a little nibble of his upcoming full length, From The Black Pool of Genius (Spring 2010). The 5 song Prelude EP was released today along with the second single off the album titled, Doin’ It Wrong.
Is The Choice Is Yours too classic? Not even. Here’s a little reminder of why you fell in love with the Black Sheep in the first place; along with the first video single off the new album titled, LuvLee.

To promote the upcoming album release of Snoop Dogg’s, Malice In Wonderland the label has put out a mixtape hosted by Dj Scream, Whoo Kid and Dj Skee. The tape features a few selected tracks from the D.O. double G himself along with appearances from Ice Cube, Nipsey Hussle, The Dream and Harvey Keitel (Bad Lieutenant whaaaat!). The full album drops on December 8th and I’m definitely going to rush out and grab it. Check out the video for the albums first single titled Gangsta Luv featuring The Dream.

It took a while but Lil Wayne’s album will finally be released on December 15th, 2009. The new Rock/Alternative album was pushed back several times after producers became skeptical over it’s success. So after much anticipation Lil Wayne is finally getting it out.
I guess Lil Wayne’s record label thought it strange that he was releasing a alternative album rather than rap. So far fans have been understanding of Lil Wayne’s love for rock, and it’s not like he’s given up rap which it what fans were mostly concerned about.

The new cover art for Shwayze’s second and newest album “Let It Beat” was unveiled this week. From the looks of it it’s like a female mannequin stereo system. Not sure what that’s about?

The featured song on the album will be the already released single “Get U Home.” Other songs will be “Livin’ It Up” that’ll feature Snoop Dogg and “Rock N Roll that features Kanye West. The album is scheduled to be released in during the first week of September, 2009. Be sure to let me know what you all think of the song.

Celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, was allegedly assaulted by Black Eyed Peas front man, Will.i.am, while they were both in Toronto during the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards over the weekend.  The altercation is said to have taken place at a nightclub in the area where Perez says the rapper and his security guys attacked him.
While Perez has filed a police report, Will.i.am is denying the assault took place although he does admit that they got into an argument at an after party.  Of course, Perez documented the whole thing on Twitter (he claims he did it because the police …read more
