Ludacris Likes to Mix Things Up With Conjure Cognac

If you didn’t already know about Ludacris’ handcrafted Cognac named Conjure then brace yourself. It definitely is going to be the drank of the holidays! On November 12 Ludacris hosted the Conjure Miami Mix Off that brought together the best of the best Miami mixologists.
These pros battled to ‘create the best Conjure cocktail’. Conjure is considered a ‘highly mixable’ Cognac that lends itself to ‘plenty of creative’ recipes. Or as Ludacris himself likes to describe it:

LL Cool J to Host Grammy Nominations Concert

Legendary Hip Hop artist LL Cool J is set to host next month’s “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!” for the second year in a row.
The rapper, who has two Grammys of his own (for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1991 and 1996), will preside over the Dec. 2 event at Club NOKIA where The Black Eyed Peas, Sugarland and Maxwell are set to perform.
The 52nd annual Grammy Awards themselves will take place on Jan. 31 during a ceremony, also to air live on CBS.
LL got his awards for “Mama Said Knock You Out” and “Hey Lover”!

BET Awards Honors Top Hip Hop Artists

The BET Hip-Hop Awards were held last night October 10, 2009 at the Atlanta Civic Center and many of the top rappers walked away with some of the night’s most prestigious prizes. Ice Cube received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to hip-hop.
Other winners included Jay-Z who made a surprise appearance to perform “As Real As It Gets” and accept his MVP of the Year Award, beating out Lil Wayne and Drake. Though don’t get mad yet cause Drake took the spotlight when he won in the Rookie of the Year Award – go Canada!

Top Artists Recruited For VH1 Honors

There have been a slew of artists recruited to perform in a celebration of Def Jam at the 2009 VH1 Hip Hop Honors. The show is scheduled for October 13th and a portion of the show will be dedicated towards honoring Def Jam Record who are celebrating their 25th year in business.

Russell Brand Announces Nominees for ‘09 VMA

Russel Brand has announced this years nominee’s for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Top of the list for hip-hopers are Eminem’s “We Made You” and Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown.”

Having him host last year was hilarious. Too bad people were so uptigh with his jokes. I hope that this year they will be more responsive to his stand-up.

Joe Jackson Appears At BET Awards

Michael Jackson’s father Joe Jackson wasn’t invited but showed up anyways to the 2009 BET Awards. He was there to represent the Jackson family during the awards show who payed tribute to the late Michael Jackson.
Though ticketless, Joe Jackson was ushered through the red carpet to the front of the stage seating next to Jay-Z and Beyonce. The 2009 BET Awards payed special tribute to the life and music of Michael.

Though he didn’t take home anything at the BET Awards he did manage to steal the spotlight during the ‘take you picture in front of some photographers before the show event.’ Him and girlfriend/model Amber Rose chose to be colour co-ordinated for the Awards show.
