Video: The Kid Daytona featuring Kardinal Offishall
November 30, 2009 by stephaniehoff
Brand new video from The Kid Daytona right here featuring Toronto rapper Kardinal Offishall. Ya dun know! If you’re a streetwear head you’ll recognize the faces, places and brands in this one. The video opens up at the Laced shop in Boston and I’m about 99% sure the girl with the tattoos is a Karmaloop model. Sneeeeeeakers!
Contact is the second single off Daytona’s Come Fly with Me album released June 30th.

You Better Recognize – Coco
November 29, 2009 by stephaniehoff
Nicole Natalie Austin a.k.a Coco Marie, Coco-T and just plain ol’ Coco. You may know her as Ice-T’s ridiculously curvy wife. She was born on March 17, 1979. Coco allegedly grew up as a tomboy then took to modeling at 14. (Has anyone every noticed a more than coincidental amount of over the top feminine women claiming to be a “tomboy” as a child?) At 18 she was specializing in swimsuit and lingerie gigs, then in 2001 worked for Playboy for 6 month before starring in several R-rated films. We all remember when she married O.G. rapper Ice-T in 2005 and the rest is hip hop history.
Coco’s well endowed breasts and buttocks are basically freak on her 5′2″ frame at 135 lbs. She looks straight out of a Gilbert Hernandez comic and Hip Hop Roll would like to salute the woman that made the male fantasy dream come true.
Here’s our girl at the Baby Phat show during fashion week this year.

Snoop Dogg – I Wanna Rock Video
November 27, 2009 by stephaniehoff
You already know I’m on the edge of my seat for this new Snoop album.
The I Wanna Rock Video just came off and I’ve got it right here. If you ask me this ones a little heavy on on the 3rd element or maybe Snoop is just influenced by the reality TV dance craze. Regardless, this joints a banger.
Happy Friday.
Lancecape on The Undergods EP
November 26, 2009 by stephaniehoff
A couple of months ago Keith Murray and Canibus put out The Undergods self-titled debut EP. I’m a really big fan of Keith Murray so I was stoked for new material and had the iTunes pumping it for about a week. Around this time, my friend and I are chilling at the crib when the second last track (Rise of the Machine) comes on and I’m like, “are you hearing this dirty beat?!” We’re feeling it for a couple seconds when my friend announces that he’s old high school crew with the dude that produced it. Obviously I had to get in touch and do an interview.
Lancecape is the producer, he’s straight out of Scarborough and the interview is right here after the jump.

Ghostface Killah – Wizard of Poetry
November 25, 2009 by stephaniehoff
A lot of people hate on Ghost’s newest album, Ghostdini: The Wizard of Poetry in Emerald City. I’m a girl so obviously I love when rap and R&B come together to make those catchy jams. I don’t care what anyone says, this record is god. Hate it or love it if there is anyone in the game that can make an R&B album hype it’s the Wallaby Champ.
Here’s Ghost saying “If you love me, you gonna love me regardless” and more on Wizard of Poetry.
Nipsey Hussle Appreciation
November 24, 2009 by stephaniehoff
Hip Hop Roll would like to shine a light on the world’s favorite emerging hip hop star, Nipsey Hussle; and when I say world’s favorite I mean that just that. Stroll on over to NipseyHussle.com to see the magnitude of marketing that’s behind this rapper, all before he’s even released a full length studio album. Sony’s team of pushers have left no modern promotional tool untouched. Nipsey’s got ringtones, e-comix, merch, high profile press, contests, newsletter, mobile ad campaign, blogs, Facebook, Myspace, Wikipedia, imeem, Twitter, YouTube and the list goes on and on.
It’s no wonder the music industry saw dollar signs when Nipsey emerged on the scene. In this substance devoid, bubble gum rap saturated market, Nipsey Hussle is precisely the thing the consumer is craving: the real thing. A young Snoop Dogg, hailing from South Central L.A., member of the infamous Neighborhoods set, Rollin’ 60’s Crips, straight faced and charismatic. This isn’t the last you’ve heard of him.
Check out Nipsey with the fresh Alife brim in the video for his newest single tilted Roll The Windows Up featuring Slauson Boyz.

November 23, 2009 by stephaniehoff
To promote the upcoming album release of Snoop Dogg’s, Malice In Wonderland the label has put out a mixtape hosted by Dj Scream, Whoo Kid and Dj Skee. The tape features a few selected tracks from the D.O. double G himself along with appearances from Ice Cube, Nipsey Hussle, The Dream and Harvey Keitel (Bad Lieutenant whaaaat!). The full album drops on December 8th and I’m definitely going to rush out and grab it. Check out the video for the albums first single titled Gangsta Luv featuring The Dream.

U-God’s Wu Tang Video Featuring Method Man
November 20, 2009 by stephaniehoff
What up cyber space! This is Steph Hoff coming straight out of Toronto, gimmie a wolf call! HipHopRoll.com has officially changed hands and I’m the new head ‘round here. Ya’ll better bookmark this, make it your homepage and check in often, we’re fresh daily.
It ain’t Wednesday but lets talk Wu for a minute. If The Wu Tang Clan were dangling off a cliff and I had to drop one member to pull the rest to safety… I’d let go of U-God… Lord knows it wouldn’t be an easy decision, but I just think back to the weak little verse they gave him in “Protect Ya Neck” and I know the world could keep turning. Now that you know where I’m at, you’ll understand when Dopium dropped this past summer I basically slept on it. That is until I saw this new video from the album. Meth is the champ on this track, but I gotta give U-God a little credit too.
The official video for “Wu-Tang” by U-God featuring Method Man, from his album Dopium in stores now.
Ludacris Likes to Mix Things Up With Conjure Cognac
November 15, 2009 by Brittany
If you didn’t already know about Ludacris’ handcrafted Cognac named Conjure then brace yourself. It definitely is going to be the drank of the holidays! On November 12 Ludacris hosted the Conjure Miami Mix Off that brought together the best of the best Miami mixologists.

These pros battled to ‘create the best Conjure cocktail’. Conjure is considered a ‘highly mixable’ Cognac that lends itself to ‘plenty of creative’ recipes. Or as Ludacris himself likes to describe it:
Conjure is strong enough for a man, smooth enough for a woman.
He has even gone as far to say that it is sex in a bottle! Dammmnnnnn! Well I know what I’m looking for this holiday season at the liquor store!
The ‘Best Conjure Drink’ went to Kelly Frie from Miami’s Meat Market who’s drink consisted of pineapple, thyme, and Conjure. The panel of judges included Ludacris, Jay Law, Kim Birkedal Hartmann (master mixologist), and co-owner of Conjure and Birkedal Hartmann Cognac.
This contest was about having fun something that Ludacris wanted his Cognac to represent! He himself had a blast and is looking forward to future contests!
Check out Ludacris’ promo vid for Conjure after the jump!
