The season finale of T.I.’s “Road To Redemption” airs tonight at 9pm ET on MTV. 

The show chronicles the last days before T.I. has to check himself into a federal penitentiary for weapons charges.  His original ten year sentence was reduced to just a year after he promised to help younger in trouble teen get onto the right track.

In this weeks episode he goes out on a date with Tameka.  Not sure what was up with her but it will be interesting to find out.

The forth release on T.I.’s latest Paper Trail album is Dead and Gone ft. Justin Timberlake. In this music video T.I. gives a remarkable rap depicting a life of crime and redemption.  It’s fitting that after having to serve hours of community service to reduce his sentencing, T.I. came out with this song. Don’t worry though, a year flies by fast.

Dead and Gone peaked at number two for five consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.

LL Cool J was caught by the paparazzi exiting the Cloufatis Restaurant in Beverly Hills, California. Reports say that the hip-hop star and actor only smiled when a waiter showed him the desert tray.  I guess he’s on a strict diet these days. I guess you would have to be to maintain that frame.

Chris Brown and Rihanna were scheduled to perform on the Kids Choice Awards Saturday, March 28 but failed to show up.  Chris Brown was nominated for favourite male singer and favourite song with “Kiss Kiss.”  Rihanna had Favourite song with “Don’t Stop the Music” up for grabs.

Personally I think this whole ‘we were surprise that they didn’t show up’ is full of BS.  I believe that Chris Brown and Rihanna were asked not to perform to help salvage the image of the awards show.  Having those two there after a horrific display of what not to do, would have sent the wrong message to teens all over the world. They needed to sit this one out to make Kids Choice look good.

A new music video is out from Kanye West’s best friend and fellow rapper GLC (Gangsta L. Crisis). The Big Screen features Kanye West and is set in a 1930 club. Not exactly sure what the song is about but the sound is okay.

T.I. checked into prison today to begin his one year and a day sentencing in a federal penitentiary.

T.I. originally faced up to 10 years but that was significantly lowered by accepting guilty verdict on lesser charges. He admitted his wrongdoings and spent his last few months under house arrest going around the United States raising awareness to others about crime. His new MTV show “Road to Redemption” chronicles his mentorship of young teens on the path to crime, and helps them find a way to a more peaceful life.

After opening her own private detective agency in Botswana (The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency), Precious Ramostswe has a lot to prove.  Fortunately, she has a talent for smoking out the truth.  With the help of Mma Makutsi, her highly-efficient secretary and friend, Ramostswe investigates cases and helps women solve problems in their lives.

Three-time Grammy Award winner, Jill Scott, brings to life the character of Precious Ramostswe in the series based on the best-selling “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” book series by Alexander McCall Smith (Random House Publishers).  Dreamgirls star, Anika Noni Rose, takes on the supporting role of Mma Makutsi, the quirky secretary.  The cast is rounded out by Lucian Msamati, who portrays Ramotswe’s devoted suitor, JLB Matekoni.

I think the casting of Jill Scott and Anika Noni Rose is genius since they are both so talented and will undoubtedly be empowering to the women who watch this show.  I’m also extremely interested in seeing a show set in Botswana.  HBO has a reputation of creating incredible television shows (I’m personally hooked on Big Love and Entourage) so I’m sure viewers will not be disappointed.

The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency premieres this Sunday, March 29 at 8pm/7C exclusively on HBO.

Sorry this is late getting up. The music video “My Love” from The Dream featuring Mariah Carey was released March 10, 2009.

It’s kind of a sad story if you ask me. The video features The Dream who gets into a fight with girlfriend Mariah Carey over unpaid bill or something. He take’s off it seems and makes it in the music industry with a Grammy and all. Except, through the good times he can’t forget his love (My Love) from the past. So he goes by their old place in a new sports car and whisks her away like a knight in shinning armour.
