Janet Jackson Leaving Record Label
September 22, 2008 by Jyle
People is reporting that singer, Janet Jackson, will be leaving her record label, Island Records.
Her rep said, “At her request, the record label has agreed to dissolve their working relationship. Now more than 20 years after the release of her iconic album, Control, Janet will have autonomy over her career, without the restrictions of a label system.”
The 42-year-old singer felt that she wasn’t being promoted properly and that not much was done to increase the sales for her latest released album. I agree with her. It’s a shame, really.

Jay-Z Making Label with Stargate

Jay-Z is working together with Norwegian record producers, Stargate, and making a new record label called StarRoc. Stargate has worked with numerous stars and helped make hits such as “So Sick” by Ne-Yo, “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce and “Unfaithful” by Rihanna.
Also, Hova will be releasing his eleventh album, “Blueprint 3“, later this year which will be his last project with Def Jam before he switches to Live Nation. I’m interested in what Jay-Z and Stargate might do together. I’m expecting some more mega hits!
